Walker Corporation returns to Lauderdale this weekend

written by:Save Ralphs Bay Inc.

It seems the Walker Corporation hasn’t heard the message yet. Despite all the critical feedback they received at their last Public Information Display, they will be back at the Lauderdale Football Club this weekend, claiming to have, “answers to some of the key questions you asked” at their previous display.

They also claim that, this time, you will be able to see what their proposed development would actually look like. That’s if their artist’s impressions can distract you from thinking about the environmental destruction, wildlife mortality, extended construction period, traffic delays, smells and other unpleasant aspects of their proposed development.

Dates and times:

Sunday, November 16, 12pm - 4pm
Monday, November 17, 11am - 4pm

Once again, we will have an information display outside the gates of the Football Club.

If you’d like to, this is how you can help:

- Contact us if you are available to join our letterboxing team - we need to get Newsletters out urgently, to advise the community of this event
- View the display on Sunday or Monday and tell Walker what you think!
- Come and see us outside the gates. You might like to add your comments to the collection in our book, buy your Ralphs Bay 2009 calendar and tell us what you think of the Walker display.

Diary note: on Sunday November 30th, we will be holding a RALPHS BAY FAIR from 10.00am - 2.00pm at the Lauderdale Hall, with free sausage sizzle, face painting for the children, information, and Ralphs Bay calendars and other merchandise for sale. Your contribution of a cake, a plant or a jar of home-made jam would be most welcome.

Thank you for all your assistance!

Best wishes from all at

From a recent Radio National ‘Background Briefing’ program, “Nature’s Numbers” on Sunday 19 October:

Wentworth Group of Scientists director, Peter Cosier, said, “We have to change the way we value nature to keep our economy on track. .... We have tipped past the point where destroying nature improves our economic wellbeing. So we have to change the economic system. Can we do it? Absolutely.”
