It was good to hear that cooler heads prevailed at the state Labor conference last weekend, when a motion supportive of the proposed Ralphs Bay development got a resounding ‘no, thanks’ from the delegates.
An earlier letter on this page (17th September) reveals that the gentleman responsible for that motion, Launceston resident Daniel Hulme, toils under the misapprehension that only a few people in Lauderdale are concerned about the development. I should hope that the reaction from the conference delegates set Mr. Hulme straight, but let’s make this perfectly clear: there are plenty of us, from all parts of the state, who aren’t just going to blindly support every big-business plan to cash in on our beautiful coastline.
Sincerely yours,
