written by:Save ralphs Bay Inc.

Save Ralphs Bay Inc (SRB) is holding Public Meetings in Lauderdale and South Arm this week, to inform the community about the recent RPDC Hearings, and what happens next in the RPDC assessment process for the Walker Corporation’s proposal to build a canal estate development on the footprint of the Ralphs Bay Conservation Area.

* * This Wednesday, August 26th at 7.30pm we are holding a Public Meeting
at the Lauderdale Hall * *

All are welcome.  Speakers will include Dr. Eric Woehler (Birds Tasmania), Jess Feehely (Environmental Defenders Office), Sue Wragge (Underwater
Adventures) and several local community members who made representations at the Hearings.  We are still confirming additional speakers.

Topics to be covered:

- what happened at the Hearings
- a taste of what the expert witnesses and community representors said
- what happens next?

* * Next Sunday, August 30th at 3pm there will be a similar Public Meeting at the Calverton Hall, South Arm * *

We are still confirming speakers, but we expect to have Merinda, Sue Wragge and Cassy O’Connor MHA, who also made a representation at the Hearings.
