Letters: To Walker Corp: “Let’s Trade”

written by:Mr. E Hibberd, Lauderdale, Tasmania

Dear Walker Corporation,

It has often been said that when good men (and women) fall silent, evil flourishes.

This morning in Lauderdale there is a deafening silence. Even before the end of your farce called a ‘community consultation’ is due to finish, you have vanished from Lauderdale leaving only frustration, anger and scores of un-answered or ignored questions. At the Government’s instruction you were told to ‘consult’ the community before a development proposal would be considered, instead all you have done is ‘insult’

Did you honestly think that we would stand by and let you drain an essential part of the Derwent eco-system, destroy natural keystone habit, murder wildlife, and ignore international migratory bird agreements with both Japan and China? All in the name of cash driven predatory development?

But you are our environmental saviours...right? Sewerage services for Lauderdale at last. Seems like a fair trade? Wrong!!.....I would rather sink in my own septic excrement than live near a bay full of yours!!

NO DEAL!!
