Letter to the Mercury on Walker Corp.’s right to on-sell the canal estate

On the final afternoon of the recent Hearings into the Walker Corporation’s proposed canal estate at Lauderdale, the Walker Corp. lawyer reminded those present that, “the permit will endure forever, no matter who is the developer.” Walker Corp. has every right to on-sell the canal estate project if it gets the relevant approvals. The uncertainty around the matter of who would actually build the development, if approved, is a further source of concern, to which the community and the Bartlett government should be alerted.
