Legislative council elections for the division of Rumney are less than one week away. SaveRalphsBay Inc is holding a public “meet the candidates” event at the Lauderdale Hall, Wednesday 4 May 2005 at 730pm. All the standing candidates, Lin Thorp MLC, David Traynor, Carmel Torenius, and Glenn Millar will be there. As potential future Rumney MLC’s, these four candidates could be faced with critical decisions on the Walker Corp proposal to develop a canal estate on the Ralph’s Bay Conservation Area.
How would these candidates vote on Project of State Significance (POSS) status for the Walker plan? Would they oppose any plan to revoke the Conservation Area status of the Ralphs Bay Conservation Area at Lauderdale or would they support the sale of this and other crown land to Walker for development?
