We have just been told (9:10am 30 August 2006) that Parliament will debate Project of State Significance status for the Walker Corp. Ralphs Bay proposal THIS MORNING starting at approximately 1130am. We need you there in the public gallery to witness this event.
If you are able:
(1) Get to Parliament by no later than 11am to line up for security
(2) Please bring as few bags and extra items as possible
(3) Wear Save Ralphs Bay clothing if you have any
Please come join us at Parliament - for Ralphs Bay, for the river Derwent, for Tasmania’s coastline, for democracy.

Speakers: Federal Franklin MHR, Harry Quick, State Franklin MHA Nick McKim, Clarence Alderman, Kay McFarlane and Cassy O’Connor from SRB Inc.
Come and find out more about the proposed Walker Corporation Project of State Significance (PoSS) and how it might be stopped. Help send a clear and unequivocal message to the Members of the Legislative Council (who will have the final vote on the PoSS in September) that no canal estate proposal should be allowed to enter Tasmania’s planning system.
It’s time to again remind our elected representatives that Ralphs Bay is not for sale.

Shortly after the bank opens tomorrow, the SRB Inc. Treasurer will deposit a $1000 cheque sent in by a concerned Western shore resident. Donations can be made to the Save Ralphs Bay Inc. account at any branch of the National Australia Bank.
TOMORROW, Monday 24 July, Save Ralphs Bay Inc. holds its Rally for the Coast II at City Hall from 12.30 - 1.30 pm. The speakers are Senator Bob Brown, Duncan Kerr MP, Cassy O’Connor, Danielle Wood and Dr Pete Hay. Bill Edmunds will be MC.
On Sunday, October 16, SRB Inc is hosting a celebratory party and BBQ by the Lauderdale canal from 12.00pm – 3pm.
